Hi

Hello! How can I help?

Now I'm waiting, wondering what you need. And you're waiting for my response before asking your actual question. We've both lost time! ⏰

This works much better

Hey Adarsh! I saw your portfolio and I'm working on a fintech app that needs secure authentication. Would you be available to discuss a potential collaboration?

Hey! That sounds interesting. I'd love to hear more about the project. What's the timeline you're looking at?

Why does this matter?

Async communication is powerful! If I'm away when you message, I can still read your question and start thinking about it. When I respond, we can dive right into the discussion instead of playing message tennis.

Being direct doesn't mean being cold! You can absolutely include pleasantries — just bundle them with your actual question. Something like:

Hey Adarsh! Hope you're doing well 😊 I came across your portfolio and really loved your work on TrustVault. I'm building a healthcare app and could use some help with the security architecture. Would you be open to a quick chat this week?

See? Warm, friendly, AND I know exactly what you need. This shows you care about the person while respecting their time. Best of both worlds! 🎯

Instead of...

  • "Hi"
  • "Hello, are you there?"
  • "Hey, quick question"
  • "Do you have a minute?"
  • "Can I ask you something?"

Try this...

  • "Hey! Hope you're well. I have a React project that needs..."
  • "Hi Adarsh, hope your week's going great! I'm looking for help with..."
  • "Hello! How's it going? Quick question about your availability for..."
  • "Hey, hope all is good! I saw your work on X and wanted to discuss..."
  • "Hi! Hope you're having a good day. I'm interested in collaborating on..."

Don't worry! This page is meant to be helpful, not harsh. If someone sent you this link, they're just trying to help us communicate better. No hard feelings! 😊
